[Asia Economy Reporter La Young-cheol] Gyeonggi Province announced on the 8th that it will promote the "Psychological Healing Support Project for Emotional Laborers, etc." to protect the rights and interests of emotional laborers in the province and improve their working conditions.
The main projects include ▲ education to guarantee rights and strengthen psychological capabilities ▲ professional psychological healing counseling for individuals and groups ▲ campaigns and promotional activities to raise awareness. A total budget of 310 million KRW has been allocated for this year.
The "Education to Guarantee Rights and Strengthen Psychological Capabilities" involves emotional labor activists, legal and labor experts, and professors visiting workplaces to provide education on related laws and regulations, emotional regulation, and self-encouragement training for employers and workers.
This year, the goal is to provide a total of 600 hours of education, with up to 300 workplaces targeted, and each session lasting within 2 hours per site.
The "Psychological Healing Counseling" will be conducted by professional counselors who provide crisis support counseling (such as suicide and trauma) and emotional coaching counseling for depression, anxiety, and panic disorders, both face-to-face and non-face-to-face, for individuals (1800 hours) and groups (200 hours).
In addition, activities such as producing awareness improvement posters for emotional laborers, card news containing education reviews, and promotional stickers will be carried out by posting them on the websites and SNS of related institutions within the province.
The province stated, "The project is characterized by being composed mainly of programs that can provide practical help to emotional laborers."
