[Asia Economy Reporter Na Yeeun] As Russia's invasion of Ukraine continues, testimonies of civilian massacres are emerging, and a photo has been released showing a Ukrainian civilian woman’s body marked with a symbol representing the Nazis.
On the 5th (local time), according to the US New York Post and the UK Independent, Lesia Vasylenko, a member of the Ukrainian Holos Party in the National Assembly, shared a photo on her Twitter, describing it as "the body of a woman who was raped, tortured, and then killed."
The released photo shows a woman’s abdomen bearing a burn mark in the shape of a swastika, a symbol of the Nazis. There are also bruises around her body, indicating she was assaulted.
Representative Vasylenko said, "I am speechless. My heart is paralyzed with anger, fear, and hatred," adding, "Russian soldiers loot, rape, and kill Ukrainians. Even a 10-year-old girl was not spared. There was also a woman with a swastika-shaped burn. All of this was done by Russia and Russian men," criticizing the acts.
She continued, "Russian mothers raised these people. It is a country of immoral criminals," sharply condemning them.
She pointed out, "'Good' Russians are burning their passports and no longer want to be called Russians," and added, "The rest are accomplices of Putin. They cannot escape guilt for the genocide of the Ukrainian people."

This is not the first revelation of sexual assault against Ukrainian women. On the 28th of last month, reports emerged that the Ukrainian Prosecutor’s Office had launched an investigation into "Russian military sexual assault cases."
The British daily The Times reported that Natalia (33, pseudonym), living in a small village in Shechenkov, a little distance from Kyiv, was brutally raped by Russian soldiers on March 9, and her husband was killed by them.
In an interview with The Times, Natalia said, "They called my husband a 'Nazi' and shot him dead," and "The Russian military threatened me that if I did not stay quiet, they would bring my son and show him the scattered brains of his mother throughout the house," before raping her.
There were also reports that mass sexual assaults occurred in some parts of Ukraine, causing Ukrainian women to live in fear. The British daily The Guardian reported on the 3rd that photographer Mykhailo Palinchak was shocked by a photo he took on a highway 20 km from Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine.
The photo showed a brown blanket covering one civilian man and two to three naked women who had died. Some body parts were also burned.
The Guardian explained that the photo is evidence that Russian forces have committed massacres, torture, and rape against civilians since invading Ukraine.
