Bae Insu: "We Will Achieve Genuine Grassroots Democracy"

Official Declaration of Candidacy for Gwangju Seo-gu Mayor

Former Gwangju Seochang Nonghyup Chairman Bae Insu held a press conference at Yangdong Market on the 6th, pledging to win as he announced his candidacy for Seo-gu District Mayor.

On the 6th, candidate Bae held a press conference at Yangdong Market, the largest traditional market in Honam, pledging his determination to win.

Emphasizing his expertise as an economic specialist, he stated, “A capable district chief who can create new growth engines for Seo-gu, the heart of Gwangju, and communicate with residents is needed.”

He continued, “As a native of the region who knows local issues better than anyone, I, Bae Insu, will accomplish this,” stressing, “I will achieve genuine grassroots democracy.”

He also said, “Transportation should be convenient, and welfare should be warm,” adding, “The city must be pleasant, good jobs for each generation should increase, education must be solid, and culture should be rich.”

At this event, he announced six major pledges as projects that can innovate based on local decentralization: ▲ New growth engines and future value ▲ Premium education city ▲ Dense welfare network ▲ Job creation ▲ A city where culture and sports breathe life ▲ Resolving welfare blind spots through a 24-hour call center.

Candidate Bae appealed, “It is time to let grassroots democracy, laid by former Presidents Kim Dae-jung and Roh Moo-hyun and developed by President Moon Jae-in, blossom through local decentralization,” and urged, “Please support me, Bae Insu, an expert in the real economy.”

After the press conference, candidate Bae toured Yangdong Market, taking time to listen to the difficulties faced by merchants.
