Okuseok, Gijang County Governor, Visits and Inspects Gijang Market Public Parking Lot

On the morning of the 6th, Oh Gyu-seok, the mayor of Gijang County, is conducting an on-site inspection at the Gijang Market public parking lot.

The Gijang Market public parking lot was opened in July 2018 with a total project cost of 21.7 billion KRW (including 2 billion KRW from the national government and 4 billion KRW from the city government) to provide transportation convenience to visitors to Gijang Market and to alleviate parking difficulties for nearby residents. It is currently operated under management consignment to the Gijang County Urban Management Corporation.

The market public parking lot is a modern parking facility with a total floor area of 7,291.69㎡ and 214 parking spaces (20 on the 1st floor, 67 on the 2nd floor, 67 on the 3rd floor, and 60 on the 4th floor). In particular, it includes 8 large bus parking spaces for group visitors and 8 parking spaces for the disabled.

In December 2019, it was certified as an ‘Excellent Crime Prevention Facility’ by the Gijang Police Station, and in December last year, through a biennial on-site diagnosis and certification renewal, it was recognized as an ‘Excellent Crime Prevention Facility’ until 2023.

The ‘Excellent Crime Prevention Facility’ certification is a system that diagnoses and evaluates the overall operational status related to crime prevention at facilities used daily by residents (such as parking lots), including ▲management and operation systems ▲security conditions ▲security systems ▲safety confirmation, to certify the degree of crime prevention.

After touring the Gijang Market public parking lot, Mayor Oh Gyuseok said, “The public parking lot at Gijang Market plays a significant role in revitalizing the market by providing transportation convenience to visitors and enhancing the image of the traditional market.” He added, “Since Gijang Market attracts many visitors from all over the country, we will make every effort to maintain and manage the parking facilities so that users do not experience any inconvenience.”
