[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] Last year, contracts worth 16.8 trillion KRW and 15.3 trillion KRW were signed with institutions and companies located in the Honam region, respectively, showing that contracts through the Public Procurement Service's Nara Market have been continuously increasing since 2019.
According to the Public Procurement Service on the 6th, an analysis of Nara Market contract performance and registered companies in the Honam region, including Gwangju Metropolitan City, Jeollanam-do, and Jeollabuk-do, revealed that institutions located in the Honam region achieved contract performance worth 16.8 trillion KRW through Nara Market last year.
By region, contracts were signed for 2.5 trillion KRW in Gwangju, 8.1 trillion KRW in Jeonnam, and 6.2 trillion KRW in Jeonbuk, with contract amounts increasing annually in all three regions.
By type of work, orders were placed in the order of construction at 8.2 trillion KRW, supplies at 5.1 trillion KRW, and services at 3.5 trillion KRW, with the construction sector having the highest order volume in all three regions.
Major ordering institutions were identified as Jeollanam-do with 600 billion KRW, Iksan Regional Land Management Office with 340 billion KRW, and Jeonju City with 330 billion KRW.
For companies, contracts were recorded at 2 trillion KRW in Gwangju, 7.7 trillion KRW in Jeonnam, and 5.6 trillion KRW in Jeonbuk by region.
By type of work, contracts were signed for construction at 8.5 trillion KRW, supplies at 4.1 trillion KRW, and services at 2.7 trillion KRW, with companies in all three regions showing strength in the construction sector.
Meanwhile, looking at the ratio of performance won from institutions in the same region, Gwangju was 56.8% (1.1 trillion KRW), which was lower than the average of 63.6% for 17 cities and provinces, but Jeonnam (70.6%, 5.4 trillion KRW) and Jeonbuk (72.2%, 4 trillion KRW) were higher than the average.
Among the three regions, 11?14% of all companies are registered in Nara Market, and 0.2?0.5% are registered in the comprehensive shopping mall. Among the companies registered in Nara Market, those that participated in at least one bid in 2021 were 5,603 in Gwangju, 11,441 in Jeonnam, and 9,551 in Jeonbuk.
