[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Pearl Abyss announced on the 6th that the open beta test (OBT) of "Black Desert Mobile" in China will begin on the 26th.
The Chinese service of Black Desert Mobile will be jointly managed by Tencent and iDreamSky. It supports both Android and Apple devices, and Chinese users can play on over 40 platforms including QQ and WeChat.
To celebrate the Chinese service launch, a release party called "Fantasy Adventure Night" will be held on the 26th. Many influencers, including China's famous esports player and broadcaster "PDD," BJ "Daesama" with 10 million followers, and popular actor "Jang Jeondan," will participate to interact with users and conduct various events.
To provide content and services tailored to the Chinese market, a total of three tests and a closed beta test (CBT) were conducted. It was selected as the "Most Anticipated Game of the Year" in the Gameplay Player Awards by users of the Chinese gaming site "17173," attracting attention from Chinese users.
Choi Seowon, General Director of Black Desert Mobile China, said, "We worked closely with the publisher for the Chinese service and devoted a lot of time and effort to localization." He added, "Based on stable operation, we will provide game services that satisfy users."
Black Desert Mobile is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) that reinterprets the PC original "Black Desert" for mobile. The global cumulative downloads have exceeded 36 million. Recognized for its high gameplay quality, it won six awards at the 2018 Korea Game Awards.
