[Asia Economy Reporter Park Sunmi] LG Electronics announced on the 6th that it will open ‘Geumseong Arcade,’ where customers can enjoy gaming on OLED TVs, in Gwangalli, Busan.
Geumseong Arcade is a Newtro (New+Retro) concept OLED TV pop-up store that LG Electronics first introduced last year in Seongsu-dong, Seoul. It was well received, attracting more than 400 visitors daily, especially loved by the MZ (Millennial+Gen Z) generation seeking new experiences and enjoyment.
Riding on this popularity, LG Electronics will operate the second Geumseong Arcade from today until June 5th in a space spanning from the basement level 1 to the 3rd floor of The Bridge Hotel located on the Gwangalli Beach theme street in Busan. The newly launched Geumseong Arcade is designed as an experiential space including ▲Private Gaming Rooms ▲OLED Gaming Zone ▲Cafe Lounge, allowing customers to enjoy not only games but also memories of the past and new lifestyles simultaneously.
Reflecting customers’ requests to experience gaming on OLED TVs in private spaces, LG Electronics created private gaming rooms for small groups of up to four people. Customers can apply through the official Geumseong Arcade Instagram account. Winners are announced weekly every Friday through a lottery.
In the private gaming rooms, customers can enjoy the latest PC online games on the 42-inch LG OLED evo, the world’s smallest OLED TV exhibited by LG Electronics for the first time. In the space equipped with the 88-inch LG SIGNATURE OLED 8K, visitors can experience everything from nostalgic retro games to the latest console games on a giant screen.
In the OLED Gaming Zone, visitors can freely enjoy over 10 LG OLED TVs featuring nostalgic arcade games, PC online games, and the latest console games. Especially when playing racing games on a large display made with three 48-inch OLED TVs or rhythm games that mimic movements on a 77-inch OLED TV screen, users can experience ultimate immersion thanks to the OLED TV’s fast response time and vivid picture quality.
On the 2nd-floor lounge space overlooking the Gwangalli sea, visitors can also experience the private wireless screen LG StanbyME. Visitors can enjoy various snacks and beverages in collaboration with Mapday, Opford, and others in the cafe space, or purchase exclusive Geumseong Arcade goods such as T-shirts, hats, and clothing lockers produced in partnership with fashion brands like Thor Container and Balansa.
Kim Sunhyung, Executive Director of Korea HE Marketing at LG Electronics, said, “We will provide a differentiated new customer experience to the MZ generation by leveraging the unparalleled picture quality and gaming performance of LG OLED TVs.”
