Multicultural Instructors from the Philippines, Vietnam, and Cambodia Participate
[Gokseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Cha Jongseon] The Gokseong-gun Family Center in Jeonnam announced that it operated the '2022 Multicultural Instructor Training Program' for five multicultural instructors from March 3 to March 31.
This training was conducted over a total of nine sessions to strengthen the capabilities of multicultural instructors.
The training content consisted of useful topics for guiding students, such as basic qualities as an instructor, theories of multicultural understanding education, methods of using teaching aids and learning materials, and PPT production practice.
Five multicultural instructors from the Philippines, Vietnam, and Cambodia participated in the training.
Multicultural instructor A, who participated in the training, said, "There were many times when I felt burdened by the need to explain other countries' cultures in Korean in an interesting yet accurate way.
This time, I gained confidence by learning good methods on how to organize the training content and how to utilize the training materials."
The Gokseong-gun Family Center has been dispatching multicultural instructors who are marriage immigrants to institutions requesting multicultural understanding and awareness improvement education since 2009.
Last year, 150 sessions of multicultural understanding education were conducted at local schools, daycare centers, and regional children's centers.
In particular, recognizing the need for systematic education to enhance the effectiveness of multicultural understanding education, the satisfaction of beneficiary institutions has increased by operating multicultural instructor training since 2020.
A county official said, "We will prepare more diverse programs so that marriage immigrants can live actively and independently as members of the local community."
