[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyemin] Kim Eun-hye, a member of the People Power Party, has stepped down from her position as spokesperson for President-elect Yoon Seok-yeol. The successor will be Assemblywoman Bae Hyun-jin.
On the morning of the 5th, during a regular briefing, when asked about her position, Kim stated, "Today’s briefing is my last as the spokesperson for the President-elect."
There have been ongoing rumors about her candidacy for the Governor of Gyeonggi Province in the June local elections. Kim said, "I have not made a final decision on running yet, but I will announce my decision as soon as possible," effectively indicating her intention to run.
The spokesperson position held by Kim will be succeeded by Assemblywoman Bae. On the same day, Bae visited the transition committee office in Tongui-dong and said, "I will do my best to share the communication and dynamism that are most important until the government is launched."
