Democratic Party's Oh Byung-seok, Preliminary Candidate for Gangjin County Governor, Holds Successful Opening Ceremony

[Gangjin=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-su] Oh Byung-seok, a preliminary candidate from the Democratic Party of Korea challenging for the position of Gangjin County Governor in Jeollanam-do, has opened his campaign office and officially launched his election campaign.

At the opening ceremony held on the 2nd on the 3rd floor of the Woori Internal Medicine building in Gangjin-eup, approximately 1,500 county residents attended, according to Oh's campaign team.

Although only two months have passed since Oh announced his candidacy, his team analyzed that the large turnout reflected the strong desire of the county residents who have long been thirsty for a capable leader.

The ceremony featured a video congratulatory message from former Prime Minister Chung Sye-kyun, whom Oh assisted while Chung was Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, followed by an encouragement letter from former Prime Minister Lee Nak-yeon, and congratulatory speeches from Kim Seung-nam, Chairman of the Jeonnam Provincial Party, Kim Soo-heung, National Assembly member for Iksan Gap in Jeonbuk, and Lee Gae-ho, National Assembly member.

Preliminary candidate Oh adopted the slogan, "Who will create a new Gangjin? Oh Byung-seok can do it!"

This slogan signifies the need for a strong leader who can unite the divided public sentiment and realize the dream of prosperity and development for the fading Gangjin.

Although he started late, Oh expressed his ambition to work harder than anyone else, actively engaging with the residents to find hope together, and presented his future vision.

He pledged to join forces with Kim Seung-nam, Chairman of the Jeonnam Provincial Party, to achieve numerous visions including the construction of the Sae Gangjin 1000-Year Jangsu Bridge connecting Sinjeon and Maryang, the establishment of a 330,000㎡ eco-friendly agricultural product production complex, a specialized livestock product distribution complex, and the creation of a multi-purpose recreational complex extending from Geumgangcheon to Tamjin River.

Oh Byung-seok emphasized, "Based on my experience of over 30 years implementing national agricultural policies on the front lines, I will ignite my last flame for our Gangjin," concluding the opening ceremony.

Meanwhile, Oh, a native of Gangjin-eup, graduated from Gangjin Middle School and Gangjin Agricultural High School, completed his master's and doctoral courses in agriculture at Chonnam National University, passed the 25th Technical High Examination, and served as Director of the Rural Policy Bureau, Director General of Food Industry Policy (Grade 1), Deputy Minister, and President of the Rural Development Administration's Agricultural Food Technology Planning and Evaluation Institute, a vice-ministerial position.
