Donghoon Kim, the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Dreamus Company
[Asia Economy Reporter Minyoung Cha] Audio platform FLO is transforming into an open platform with a blockchain-based monetization model linked to fandoms and communities.
Kim Donghoon, the new CEO of Dreamus Company, the operator of FLO, announced on the 4th that they will build a blockchain-based platform alliance to create an L2E (Life to Earn) ecosystem.
Dreamus Company plans to convert its audio platform FLO into an open platform by the first half of this year, where anyone can become a creator and upload content. Based on this, they aim to develop an L2E ecosystem that goes beyond music and audio content services to form fandoms through creative activities and monetize through the activation of fandom communities.
To this end, Dreamus is building a platform alliance in cooperation not only with FLO but also with platforms and intellectual property (IP) holders. On the 28th of last month, they made a strategic investment in Bithumb Meta, established by fintech unicorn Bithumb, and announced plans to jointly promote metaverse and non-fungible token (NFT) businesses. Last year, they invested in and formed a partnership with the global fandom platform b.stage. They have also invested in production companies such as Beyond Music, a global IP investment specialist, P Nation, RBW, and Make Us.
Kim Donghoon, the new CEO, said, “Centered on the audio platform FLO, which is set to transition to an open platform in the first half of the year, Dreamus Company will create an L2E ecosystem?a new content creation and consumption environment never seen before?through alliances with tech and content partners. We will accelerate securing and producing IP at the core of the ecosystem and grow rapidly together with creators and fandoms.”
