‘Delicious Joy, Drinking Joy’ NET Launches the World's Lightest Tonic Water ‘Balpo Tonic’ on Wadiz

‘Delicious Joy, Drinking Joy’ NET Launches the World's Lightest Tonic Water ‘Balpo Tonic’ on Wadiz

NET, a food startup founded in the Chung-Ang University Campustown, announced that it will introduce 'Balpo Tonic,' a new concept tonic water that is a must-have for drinking occasions and lighter than paper, for the first time on the crowdfunding site Wadiz on April 4th at 2 PM.

Balpo Tonic, a tablet-type tonic water released by NET this time, started from the question, "Does tonic water have to be water?" Tonic water is a carbonated beverage with a unique sweet and bitter taste, typically mixed with alcohol.

Balpo Tonic is a new tonic water that can be enjoyed by dissolving one tablet in 150-200ml of water. CEO Kim Yesung of NET said, "Balpo Tonic is a product that can be enjoyed by office workers and university students who often have company dinners, people who find the unique taste of alcohol burdensome, and everyone who likes tonic water. It is light and convenient, making it perfect for camping, golf, and travel."

To create Balpo Tonic, NET purchased all the tonic waters available on the market and analyzed the flavors and scents consumers desired. They conducted over a year of effervescence verification and long-term research on flavor and aroma, through which they also completed a patent application. Currently, it is produced in a facility certified with HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points).

Balpo Tonic is revolutionary in terms of convenience due to its light weight and volume. It can be easily carried in a pocket and enjoyed deliciously anytime and anywhere as long as there is water. Catering to consumers who prefer low-calorie and low-alcohol beverages, it contains no sugar and is enriched with taurine and vitamins for vitality. It can be stored at room temperature for up to two years, expected to solve various concerns encountered during drinking occasions and lead a healthy drinking culture.

Funding for Balpo Tonic will be conducted from April 4th to April 18th. By searching for “[A must-have for drinking occasions!] New concept tonic water lighter than paper, Balpo Tonic” on the Wadiz site, users can sign up for notifications and participate in funding. Through this crowdfunding, consumers can experience Balpo Tonic at a special price.

NET, a startup from Chung-Ang University Campustown, stated, "We will pioneer a new market of general foods in the form of effervescent tablets through Balpo Tonic."

Meanwhile, Chung-Ang University Campustown has been supported by the Seoul Metropolitan Government with 10 billion KRW over four years and, together with Dongjak-gu, promotes creative youth talent development and regional cultural convergence through cooperation between the university and the local community, helping universities, youth, and the region grow together. Over the past three years, it has discovered 53 early-stage startups and prospective entrepreneurs, providing education, mentoring, office space, and commercialization support.
