[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunji Kwon] Former lawmaker Kang Yong-seok, who runs the conservative YouTube channel ‘Garosero Research Institute,’ has officially declared his candidacy for Governor of Gyeonggi Province.
On the 2nd, Kang sent a text message titled ‘Announcement of Candidacy for Governor of Gyeonggi Province’ to reporters, stating that he plans to hold a press conference to announce his candidacy at Seryu Station in Suwon City, Gyeonggi Province on the 4th.
Kang is expected to compete for the Governor of Gyeonggi Province position against former People Power Party lawmaker Yoo Seung-min and Kim Dong-yeon, leader of the New Wave, who also declared their candidacies on the 31st of last month.
Earlier, Kang criticized Yoo’s candidacy for Governor of Gyeonggi Province and issued a warning. On the 31st, through Facebook, he referred to Yoo’s declaration statement, saying, “There is not a single item specialized for Gyeonggi Province,” and directly stated, “It clearly proves that he does not know Gyeonggi Province at all.”
