[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] Lawyer Yoo Young-ha, who officially declared his candidacy for Daegu mayor, announced that former President Park Geun-hye has agreed to serve as his campaign chairman.

At a press conference held on the 1st at the People Power Party Daegu City Office, Lawyer Yoo said, "Although we achieved a regime change with the full support of the citizens of Daegu, you still have the mission to regain the pride and self-esteem of being the number one city, and I have a long journey ahead to revive the truth."

During a Q&A session with reporters, Lawyer Yoo stated, "The support committee will be formed soon," and added, "Former President Park has agreed to serve as the chairman of the support committee." He also said, "I will be able to share a message from former President Park regarding this." Lawyer Yoo served as the legal representative for former President Park, who was specially pardoned at the end of last year, during her impeachment trial and has led the lawsuit for four years.

At the press conference, Lawyer Yoo emphasized, "I stand here because of your support and encouragement to restore Daegu’s pride as the center of conservatism and the number one city," and added, "With the consistency I have shown over the past five years, I will walk straight for my beloved hometown Daegu."
