[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Suwon City in Gyeonggi Province conducted training for public officials to ensure the stable payment of the 'Living Support Fund' provided to COVID-19 confirmed patients.
Suwon City announced that it held the 'COVID-19 Living Support Fund Task Public Officials Training' over two days, from the 30th to the 31st, in the situation rooms of four district offices under Suwon City Hall.
This training was organized to resolve work confusion among responsible public officials and inconvenience to citizens amid a significant increase in recipients of the Living Support Fund for hospitalized and isolated COVID-19 patients, and recent changes in the payment guidelines.
The main training topics included ▲Eligibility and support amounts for the COVID-19 Living Support Fund application ▲Key changes in payment guidelines from December 2021 to March 2022 (number of supported persons, exclusion criteria, application deadlines, etc.) ▲Precautions due to simplification of Living Support Fund documents ▲Management methods of the Social Security Information System (Happy e-um).
A city official explained, "We will provide detailed guidance on key guideline matters to those in charge of the Living Support Fund to enhance their ability to respond to civil complaints," adding, "We will continue to strive to ensure the stable payment of the Living Support Fund."
Previously, to smoothly operate tasks related to the Living Support Fund, Suwon City formed and is operating the 'COVID-19 Living Support Fund TF' led by the Director of the Welfare and Women’s Bureau of Suwon City. Additionally, from April to June, temporary workers will be assigned to support Living Support Fund tasks in 44 neighborhoods within the city.
The Living Support Fund is provided to citizens who have received hospitalization or isolation notices due to COVID-19 in accordance with the 'Infectious Disease Prevention and Control Act.' For those who received hospitalization or isolation notices after March 16 of this year, 100,000 KRW is paid if there is one isolated person in the household, and 150,000 KRW if there are two or more.
