Seunghee Woo, Yeongam County Governor Preliminary Candidate, Officially Launches Election Office



[Yeongam=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Jae-kyung] Woo Seung-hee, the Democratic Party of Korea's preliminary candidate for Yeongam County Governor in Jeollanam-do, held an opening ceremony at the campaign office located on Jungang-ro, Yeongam-eup, at 1 p.m. on the 30th.


At the ceremony, a foot-washing ritual was conducted, where the candidate personally washed the feet of six representatives symbolizing various groups of county residents, including children, youth, women, the elderly, the disabled, and multicultural families, signifying his dedication to serving the residents.


Following this, symbolizing the commitment to listen well, observe carefully, and speak for the residents, the candidate had his hair combed, glasses, ears, and mouth cleaned, and was helped to wear a uniform and shoes, receiving support from the attendees.


Additionally, Woo Won-sik, a four-term Democratic Party lawmaker representing Seoul/Nowon-gu Eul, was appointed as the chairman of Woo Seung-hee's Yeongam County Governor preliminary candidate support committee.

During his greeting, Candidate Woo read a letter from a child and promised to create a livable Yeongam where residents would not have to worry about leaving.


Candidate Woo stated, “I will not pursue personal greed but will think only of the residents and the future of Yeongam. I ask you to stand with Woo Seung-hee, who will change Yeongam's destiny, until the end.”


Meanwhile, Woo Seung-hee was elected as the youngest member of the Jeollanam-do Provincial Assembly in 2014 and was re-elected. He served as the chair of the Education Committee in the 11th Jeollanam-do Assembly's first half. Over the past eight years, he has received various awards from academic societies, the Democratic Party, and civic groups, and was recognized for his active legislative activities, including being selected as the Best Assembly Member by provincial government officials.
