[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] On Wednesday the 30th, rain will fall nationwide due to the influence of a low-pressure trough. Although the amount will not be large, the duration will be long, and most of the rain will stop by the morning of the 31st.
The Korea Meteorological Administration forecasted that rain will start from Jeju Island in the morning, expand to the southern regions during the day, and spread nationwide from late afternoon. Expected precipitation amounts are 5-20mm in Gangwon Yeongdong and Jeju Island, and around 5mm elsewhere nationwide.
The rain will begin to stop from the western regions at dawn on the 31st and will cease in most areas by morning. Some places in Gangwon Yeongdong, the northeastern mountains of Gyeongbuk, and the northern East Coast of Gyeongbuk will still experience rain in the afternoon. In the Gangwon mountains, temperatures will drop, resulting in about 1-5cm of snow.
As of 7 a.m. on this day, regional temperatures are Seoul 6.1°C, Chuncheon 0.6°C, Incheon 7.6°C, Suwon 5.4°C, Gangneung 12.7°C, Cheongju 6.5°C, Andong 2.8°C, Daejeon 5.1°C, Jeonju 8.0°C, Pohang 8.8°C, Daegu 6.8°C, Ulsan 7.3°C, Gwangju 9.8°C, Mokpo 9.8°C, Yeosu 9.6°C, Busan 12.9°C, Jeju 12.8°C, etc. Daytime temperatures will be warm, similar to the previous day, ranging from 13 to 21°C.
The lowest temperatures on the morning of the 31st will be 4-12°C, and the highest daytime temperatures will be 8-18°C. After the rain stops, cold air will flow in from the north, causing temperatures to drop significantly on the morning of the 1st. The lowest temperatures on the morning of the 1st are expected to be -2 to 7°C, and the highest daytime temperatures 10 to 16°C. Temperatures will gradually recover from the weekend, and warm weather will continue from the 4th of next month.
Between dawn and morning on the 31st, fog with visibility less than 1 km will form in some areas along the southern coast and the west coast, so caution is needed for traffic safety. On the 31st and 1st, strong winds of 9-14 m/s will blow mainly along the west coast, the coastal areas of Gyeongnam, and Jeju Island. Winds will be very strong at 10-16 m/s over all seas around Jeju Island and the open sea, with waves rising very high at 2-4 meters.
