[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Byung-don] The South Korean men's under-19 (U-19) soccer team, led by coach Kim Eun-jung, achieved a decisive victory in their first official match against the Indonesia U-19 team, coached by Shin Tae-yong.

The South Korea U-19 soccer team won 5-1 on the 29th at the DGB Daegu Bank Park in Daegu in a friendly match against the Indonesia U-19 team invited by Hana Bank, led by Jeong Jong-hoon (Gwangju) who scored multiple goals.

Coach Kim Eun-jung, who took the helm last December, started his official managerial debut with a sweet victory, beginning the challenge for the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup.

Kim Eun-jung's team aims to qualify through the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) U-20 Asian Cup qualifiers held in September, and if they finish in the top four in the main tournament next year, they will secure a spot in the U-20 World Cup.

The Indonesia U-19 team, led by coach Shin, showed impressive performance by scoring against the much stronger South Korean team, raising expectations for the U-20 World Cup next year. This tournament will be held in Indonesia.
