[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yeo Jong-gu] Yeongcheon City in Gyeongbuk Province is expanding the scope of fines for obstructing electric vehicle charging to include all electric vehicle charging facilities.
Following the revision of the "Enforcement Decree of the Eco-friendly Vehicle Act" on January 28, Yeongcheon City will operate a fine guidance period with sufficient publicity until the end of April.
Before the revision of the law, it only applied to rapid charging facilities with 100 or more parking spaces in public facilities and public-use parking lots.
According to the revision of the enforcement decree, the scope has been expanded to all publicly used charging facilities marked as charging zones, and from May 1, a fine of up to 200,000 KRW will be imposed for obstructing charging in all electric vehicle charging zones, including apartment complexes, public parking lots, and public-use facilities.
The main violations include ▲parking general vehicles in charging zones, placing objects in surrounding access roads ▲obstructing charging ▲continuing to park after charging is completed ▲intentionally damaging charging facilities or charging zone markings and letters.
