[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Ju-yeon] Oh Young-hoon, a member of the National Assembly from the Democratic Party of Korea who announced his candidacy for the Governor of Jeju Province, emphasized on the 28th, "I want to concretize a plan to create a belt linking Samseonghyeol, Jeju Folklore and Natural History Museum, and Sinsan Park, transforming it into a future park where history, culture, people, and nature coexist, similar to Central Park in New York, USA."
On this day, as his first schedule after declaring his candidacy for the Governor of Jeju Province, Assemblyman Oh visited Samseonghyeol in Jeju City, the birthplace of the Tamna Jeju Samseong Myth (三姓神話), and offered incense and paid respects at Samseongjeon, where the spirit tablets of Sam-eulna (三乙那) are enshrined, and exchanged opinions with related parties from the old, middle, and new Samseongsa Foundation.
At this occasion, Assemblyman Oh said, "Samseonghyeol, the oldest relic on the Korean Peninsula, is the root of Jeju and embodies the creative spirit of the people of Jeju," adding, "We will inherit the spirit of Tamna and open a new future suitable for the era of great transformation." He also visited the Jeju Folklore and Natural History Museum, stating, "History is the future," and "I will concretize a plan to create a belt linking Samseonghyeol, Jeju Folklore and Natural History Museum, and Sinsan Park."
In particular, Assemblyman Oh said, "It is time to consider the Jeju Tamna History Hall that can encompass the history of Jeju from the Tamna era to modern and contemporary times," and added, "We will realize opportunities to introduce Jeju's rich myths and great history to the world."
