Asan Nanum Foundation Selects 'Maru' Startups for First Half of the Year


[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] Asan Nanum Foundation (Chairman Jang Seok-hwan) announced on the 28th that it has finalized the selection of 17 startup teams for the first half of 2022 at the entrepreneurship platform 'Maru (Maru180·Maru360)'.


Maru is located on Yeoksam-ro, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, and following Maru180, which opened in April 2014, Maru360, which was additionally opened in November last year, provides comprehensive solutions including infrastructure, networks, and education necessary for startups.


The selected Maru resident startups are a total of 17 teams: ▲Grou ▲Nutrigram ▲The Jarum Company ▲Medipal ▲Betflux ▲Bookipis ▲V1C ▲Black Tangerine ▲Seshat ▲Soft R AI ▲Studio Villain ▲Space Way B ▲Aru ▲Wonderworks Company ▲Cuz ▲Crash Company ▲Pixellic Korea, chosen through document and interview evaluations.


The selected startups can use designated office spaces at Maru180 and Maru360 for up to one year starting from April, with office furniture necessary for work provided. All auxiliary facilities within Maru180 and 360, including meeting rooms, lounges, shower rooms, sleeping rooms, seminar rooms, and event halls, can be freely used. When using the kids zone at Maru360, free or discounted benefits are provided, and studio use for content production is also available free of charge through membership registration on the website.


Additionally, investment connections are possible through the Asan Nanum Foundation network and Investor Day events, and promotion and marketing support are provided using internal resources. Teams wishing to participate in overseas business trips or conferences are provided with an amount equivalent to 3 million KRW. Through the expert matching program 'Maru Connect' provided to resident companies, one-on-one mentoring from top industry experts or senior entrepreneurs is also available.


Kim Arang, Head of Business at Asan Nanum Foundation, said, "With the opening of Maru360 last year, we have been able to support more innovative startups with potential in Korea," and added, "Asan Nanum Foundation will continue to consider ways to provide practical and psychological support so that startups residing at Maru can focus on their business."
