- Premium Caregiving Service by Professional Caregivers under Exclusive Employment Contracts with the Company
- Industry-Only Large-Scale Recruitment of Exclusive Caregivers Subject to the Domestic Workers Act
GoodCare, a caregiver matching platform operated by Unimeo Co., Ltd., announced the launch of its “Exclusive Caregiver” service.
The “Exclusive Caregiver” service of GoodCare is a premium caregiving service composed of caregivers who have signed formal employment contracts with Unimeo Co., Ltd. Among approximately 20,000 caregivers who have worked through GoodCare, only those who have received excellent evaluations in terms of experience, job skills, service mindset, and customer satisfaction are selected and provided.
The existing caregiving industry typically operates as an employment agency structure where intermediaries, commonly called “Caregiver Associations,” mediate between caregivers and patients or guardians and receive fees under the name of introduction fees. In this case, since the employment contract parties are the caregiver and the patient or guardian, the intermediary has no responsibility for managing or supervising complaints or accidents that occur during caregiving work. Also, caregivers are not affiliated with a specific intermediary, so standardized training or verification of job skills is not conducted.
In contrast, GoodCare’s Exclusive Caregiver service employs caregivers as company staff who perform their duties under GoodCare’s supervision, managing the entire process from caregiving requests, matching, dispatch, to completion.
In particular, GoodCare, in partnership with Dongguk University Future Convergence Research Institute, regularly conducts systematic training and evaluations on job performance ability and service mindset for exclusive caregivers, resulting in high satisfaction among patients and guardians regarding caregiving services.
Additionally, GoodCare is the only company in the industry that hires exclusive caregivers on a large scale in accordance with the “Act on the Improvement of Employment and Treatment of Household Workers” (abbreviated as the “Household Workers Act”).
According to the Household Workers Act, caregiving services can be provided by corporations formally established under the law that employ caregivers as staff. Caregivers become employees of the corporation through labor contracts and thus are entitled to benefits such as the four major social insurances and severance pay.
Since the enforcement of the Household Workers Act in June 2022, GoodCare’s exclusive caregivers can be hired as full-time employees based on their preference and receive various welfare benefits such as free uniforms, holiday gifts, holiday bonuses, outstanding employee awards, and remote psychological counseling.
GoodCare has signed caregiver supply agreements with the largest number of hospitals in the industry, including top general hospitals such as Seoul National University Bundang Hospital, Chung-Ang University Hospital, Soonchunhyang University Seoul Hospital, Soonchunhyang University Bucheon Hospital, Dongguk University Ilsan Hospital, Hallym University Sacred Heart Hospital, and Gangdong Kyung Hee University Hospital, providing abundant work opportunities for caregivers.
Jang Seung-ik, CEO of Unimeo Co., Ltd., which operates GoodCare, stated, “Through the industry’s only exclusive caregiver service, GoodCare will provide high-quality caregiving services to patients and guardians and take the lead in establishing a good caregiving culture by ensuring stable jobs and improving treatment for caregivers.”
