Yo Young-ha, Considering Running for Daegu Mayor "In Deep Thought"
[Asia Economy Reporter Na Ye-eun] Yoo Young-ha, a close aide of former President Park Geun-hye, revealed that he received help from the Garosero Research Institute (Gaseyeon) during the process of securing a residence in Dalseong-gun, Daegu.
In an interview on the Daegu Maeil Newspaper YouTube channel 'Maeil Gwanpungnu' on the 25th, Yoo said, "I often hear people telling me not to appear on Gaseyeon. I hope there are no misunderstandings," referring to the 2.5 billion won purchase price of the residence.
Earlier, Gaseyeon hinted on the 27th of last month, saying, "No one stepped forward for former President Park, who has no assets," and "It is not proper for us to directly disclose the issue of former President Park's Dalseong residence, but the time will soon come when former President Park will reveal it himself."
Yoo stated, "Since the funds for purchasing the residence are a creditor-debtor relationship between individuals, I cannot disclose details, but it is true that Gaseyeon helped to some extent."
He added, "It was not a one-sided help but a loan," and "Since it was borrowed, it must be repaid, and my family is providing a lot of help and will continue to do so."
Yoo said, "At the time of raising the funds to buy the house, there was a problem with the bank loan part, so I borrowed urgently," and "I am repaying it, so please do not worry too much." He added, "If Gaseyeon had given it voluntarily, it would have been a gift, so I borrowed it. The repayment plan is all prepared."
He also said, "Former President Park's living expenses are being supported by the family and will continue to be supported," indicating there is no need to worry much about living expenses.
Meanwhile, regarding rumors of running for mayor of Daegu, Yoo said, "I will discuss it with former President Park and am deliberating with the family," adding, "Whether it is for mayor of Daegu or the general election in two years, if the people want it and the conditions are ripe, I will follow."
Yoo served as a lawyer throughout former President Park's trial and was one of the closest aides allowed to visit her during her imprisonment.
