"'Open Administration Communicating with Citizens'... We Will Create a Smart Welfare and Cultural City"
[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] Kang Se-chang, former chairman of the People Power Party's Uijeongbu Gap district committee, has announced his candidacy for Uijeongbu mayor in the June 1 local elections.
On the morning of the 23rd, Kang registered as a preliminary candidate with the election commission and stated in a press release, "Based on 'open administration that communicates with citizens,' I will transform Uijeongbu into a smart welfare and cultural city grounded in the 4th industrial revolution."
He added, "Through administrative innovation that allows citizens to actively participate, I will create policies that consider and support ordinary citizens, self-employed individuals, socially vulnerable groups, and minorities."
He also said, "I will expand opportunities for professional vocational education targeting youth and re-employed individuals, establish startup institutions for small-capital entrepreneurs, and increase economic activity spaces for creators in the cultural and artistic fields."
Along with this, he stated, "I will thoroughly review the key projects promoted by the previous mayor through experts" and "I will prepare and announce specific pledges in various fields that citizens can empathize with, such as the development plan for the US military return land."
Former Chairman Kang graduated from Uijeongbu Kyungmin Middle School and Uijeongbu Technical High School, ran twice for the Uijeongbu Gap National Assembly seat, and currently serves as the chairman of the 4th Industrial Economy Committee of the People Power Party Gyeonggi Province branch.
