'Affordable Phone Comparison Platform' GogoMobile Obtains Personal Information Protection Certification

Acquired Both ISO 27001 and ISO 27701 Certifications

[Asia Economy Reporter Minyoung Cha] As the importance of personal information protection grows in the online platform industry, the MVNO (Mobile Virtual Network Operator) plan comparison platform 'Gogo Mobile' has obtained two international standard certifications in the field of information security.

Gogo Factory, which operates Gogo Mobile, announced on the 22nd that it has acquired both the international standard information security management system 'ISO 27001' certification and the international standard personal information protection management system 'ISO 27701' certification established by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).

ISO 27001 and ISO 27701 certifications are international standards in the field of information security. ISO 27701 was obtained from EQ Certification Institute, an ISO management system certification body. It is explained that Gogo Mobile is the only company in the domestic MVNO industry to have acquired both certifications.

To obtain the ISO 27701 certification, an on-site audit must be conducted to ensure compliance with a total of 49 guidelines across 8 areas required by the European General Data Protection Regulation (EU-GDPR), including personal information management procedures, encryption, and anonymization.

Gabin Kim, CEO of Gogo Factory, stated, "Through this certification, we have proven that we are a company equipped with an information security and personal information protection system that meets international standards," adding, "We will annually enhance our security policies and strengthen continuous monitoring and response systems against security threats."

Gogo Mobile (GogoMo) is a service that gathers all domestic MVNO plan information at once, including subsidiaries of MNOs such as Seven Mobile, KTM Mobile, U+ Alttel Mobile, KT Skylife, as well as post office-affiliated MVNO operators like Iyagi Mobile, T Plus, and Eyes Mobile. Along with 'Alttel Phone Hub,' it allows customers to easily compare MVNO plans.
