Comparison and Search Service for Budget Phone Plans Moyo Surpasses 450,000 Cumulative Users

Moyo (Everyone's Plan), a comparison and search service for budget phone plans, announced that its cumulative users have exceeded 450,000 since the service was established.


Recently, Moyo secured 1 billion KRW in seed investment from Kakao Ventures and Base Investment. The company was founded by CEO Andonggeon, formerly of Toss, along with four employees who have experience at well-known platform companies such as Coupang Eats and Yanolja. Last year, it was selected as the top company in the Sungkyunkwan University preliminary startup package project.


Moyo’s service advantage lies in recommending optimized plans to users based on an analysis of their telecommunication service usage patterns and directly linking them to the activation process. Users can receive plan recommendations by entering information such as remaining contract conditions of their current telecommunication service, daily call, text, and data usage, and desired data speed.


Even when subscribing to budget phone services through Moyo, users are not charged any separate brokerage fees.


Through partnerships with telecom companies, Moyo also offers its own plan product called ‘Moyo ONLY.’ Currently, it has partnerships with budget phone carriers ‘Insmobile’ and ‘Valuecom,’ and plans to continue expanding its partner telecom companies.


Moyo also operates a self-purchased phone recommendation service. Self-purchase refers to a purchasing method where users buy phones directly without going through a telecom carrier and then select a carrier to activate the phone. By entering the desired phone brand and performance level, consumers are recommended the cheapest sellers for that phone.


At the same time, through the ‘Phone Sweet Combination Calculator,’ Moyo presents budget phone plans available for the selected self-purchased phone and the expected savings on telecommunication fees. It is evaluated as guiding consumers on how to purchase and activate self-purchased phones at the lowest possible price.


CEO Andonggeon of Moyo said, “We will do our best to launch plans at market-lowest prices so that budget phone customers can use telecommunication services more conveniently and cost-effectively,” adding, “Our company’s goal is to provide services covering all areas of telecommunication?from purchasing phones and used phones to plan comparison and search, and phone activation?all through the Moyo app.”
