"Shall I Create My Own Perfume?" Lotte Department Store Opens Experiential Clean Beauty Select Shop 'Nuance'

"Shall I Create My Own Perfume?" Lotte Department Store Opens Experiential Clean Beauty Select Shop 'Nuance' Lotte Department Store's Nuance.

[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jinyoung] Lotte Department Store announced on the 22nd that it will launch an experiential ‘clean beauty’ select shop in line with the global value consumption trend.

Lotte Department Store will open the experiential ‘clean beauty’ select shop ‘Nuancier’ at Pyeongchon Branch on the 25th and Ilsan Branch on the 1st of next month. Centered on the 2030 generation, ‘clean beauty,’ which excludes harmful substances to the skin and considers sustainable environment, is gaining popularity. In fact, the demand for clean beauty at Lotte Department Store last year showed an explosive increase, more than doubling compared to before COVID-19 (2019).

Lotte Department Store has carefully selected and presents 24 clean beauty brands across various fields including skincare, body care, niche perfume, and home fragrance. Representative brands include ‘Cosmedor,’ a French handmade skincare brand with about 150 years of history; ‘Omorovicza,’ a luxury spa brand representing Hungary; and ‘Ashburyto,’ a premium body care brand used by European royal families.

Additionally, rising brands such as ‘Sevin London,’ a British body care brand selected as a ‘noteworthy brand’ at last year’s global lifestyle fair ‘Maison&Objet,’ and ‘Dive,’ which supports single mothers in Korea with sales proceeds and realizes the value of living together, can also be found.

In particular, brands like ‘Cosmedor’ and ‘Sevin London’ are being introduced for the first time in the domestic distribution industry and can only be found offline at Lotte Department Store’s Nuancier stores.

An experiential space where customers can touch and enjoy products is also provided to add fun to shopping. This is in consideration of the fact that the main consumers of clean beauty are the experience-oriented 2030 generation. Representative experiential contents include ‘fragrance making,’ where customers can create their own perfume, and ‘making plaster air fresheners’ using eco-friendly materials.

Various purchase benefits have been prepared to celebrate the new opening. From the store opening date until May 30, customers who visit the Nuancier store and join the brand membership will receive a hand cream (30ml, 12,000 KRW) from the clean beauty brand ‘Oneple’ on a first-come, first-served basis. Also, customers who purchase at least one product at the ‘Nuancier’ store by Tuesday, May 31, can experience making plaster air fresheners for free. In addition, various promotions such as discounts by brand or gift giveaways are being held.

Jung Suyeon, head of the Makeup and Perfume Team at Lotte Department Store, said, “As the importance of eco-friendly value consumption has grown more than ever due to COVID-19, we have prepared this select shop with great care to meet customers’ needs,” and added, “We will continue to strive to present more valuable and enjoyable beauty content to our customers.”
