Lithium Plus Submits Permits for Mass Production of Lithium Hydroxide and Lithium Carbonate

[Asia Economy Reporter Hyungsoo Park] Lithium Plus announced on the 21st that it has completed the permit application for the lithium production plant in Geumsan-gun, Chungnam. The company will mass-produce ultra-high purity lithium hydroxide and ultra-high purity lithium carbonate for batteries.

The permit application is the final step to install the completed mass production equipment along with the finalized factory structure, architecture, electrical, and fire safety blueprints. All equipment will be installed by June, and the battery-grade lithium hydroxide and lithium carbonate production facility with a capacity of 3,600 tons will be operational by July.

A Lithium Plus official said, "We have thoroughly reviewed the stability of the large-scale equipment," and "the final blueprints have been confirmed, and the process construction will be completed by June."

He added, "To respond to the surge in lithium carbonate demand, we have added processes to establish a dual production system," and "we will build a diverse and stable lithium production system including lithium hydroxide and ultra-high purity lithium carbonate to meet market demand."

The core production technology of Lithium Plus is the technology to convert off-spec lithium carbonate and lithium hydroxide into ultra-high purity products.

A company representative emphasized, "In the second half of this year, monthly sales of 30 billion KRW based on the current lithium price are also possible," and "we will strive to grow into a unicorn company recording an annual operating profit of over 100 billion KRW in the future."
