[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jun-kyung] Kim Dae-jung, a preliminary candidate for Jeonnam Superintendent of Education, has launched the "Kim Dae-jung Fund."

According to Kim Dae-jung's election camp on the 21st, the Kim Dae-jung Fund is open to all citizens of the Republic of Korea, and unlike political donations, teachers and public officials can also join the fund. The minimum individual pledge amount is 10,000 KRW, with no upper limit.

After the investor completes a pledge form and deposits into the fund account, the candidate sends a promissory note, completing the fund subscription. The interest rate is 3.0%, and the principal and interest will be repaid by calculating the days before August 10.

The fund of a candidate running for election is a type of loan-based fund that publicly raises political funds and repays them after the election. The state fully reimburses the election expenses of candidates who receive more than 15% of the votes.

A representative of candidate Kim Dae-jung stated, "The start of a clean Jeonnam education begins with a clean election," and added, "We have launched the Jeonnam Education Great Transformation Promise Fund to create transparent election expenses together with the residents."
