[Asia Economy Reporter Jin-ho Kim] KOTRA announced on the 21st that it will hold an online '2022 China Two Sessions Key Keywords and Implications Webinar' for Chinese business companies on the 22nd.
The Two Sessions is the largest political event in China held every early March. It is a collective term for the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), the highest national policy advisory body, and the National People's Congress (NPC), which is equivalent to the parliament. In particular, at the NPC, the Premier directly announces the direction and detailed tasks for China's economic management for the year. This is crucial information that Korean companies doing business in China cannot miss.
In this webinar, analysts from two major Chinese securities firms will participate as speakers to present the key keywords and implications of the Two Sessions from the perspective of local experts.
Wei Xiang, Chief Analyst at China Zhongxin Securities, will present on China's macroeconomy overall, covering fiscal and monetary policy, infrastructure investment, real estate, manufacturing, and consumption. The second speaker, Huang Weici, an analyst at Guotai Junan Securities, will focus on energy, chemicals, digital economy, and other sectors to discuss the 'impact and implications on major industries.'
Hong Chang-pyo, Head of KOTRA's China Regional Headquarters, said, "This year, contrary to many experts' expectations, the Chinese government set the GDP growth target at 5.5% during the Two Sessions," adding, "It will be very meaningful to understand what policy directions and tasks the Chinese government has presented amid situations inside and outside China such as COVID-19 and US-China relations."
