[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Hampyeong County has achieved the remarkable feat of having 90 villages selected for Jeonnam Province's core policy project, the ‘Clean Jeonnam Best Village Making’ initiative.
According to the county on the 21st, in addition to the 45 villages that were selected as Best Villages last year, 45 new villages were added this year, bringing the total to 90 villages participating in the ‘Clean Jeonnam Best Village Making’ project.
Despite having fewer villages compared to other counties, the county achieved the result of discovering 45 new villages this year through active communication with residents.
Villages selected as Best Villages will receive 3 million KRW annually for three years, totaling 9 million KRW to carry out their projects, and five villages selected as outstanding through year-end evaluation will receive an additional incentive of 1 million KRW in project funds.
A county official stated, “We plan to strengthen the substance of the project by forming a county task force led by Vice County Governor Lee Byung-yong,” adding, “We will work together with residents to create distinctive villages by utilizing Hampyeong’s beautiful resources.”
Meanwhile, the ‘Clean Jeonnam Best Village Making’ project is a Jeonnam Province policy that started last year, aimed at revitalizing village communities by having residents actively participate in improving the village environment.
