[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] Incheon City announced on the 20th that it will implement a service providing various information about child care facilities based on GIS (Geographic Information System).
The city plans to create a child care map that provides location information of child care facilities in the region on the homepage and the 'Incheon e-Hanune' site facility status page, allowing citizens to utilize it.
The child care map, which will include information such as facility addresses, contact numbers, operation types, and capacity, is currently being developed in connection with the GIS platform established by the city and is scheduled to be launched on the city homepage and the 'Incheon e-Hanune' site on the 25th.
The city expects that once the digital map allowing easy access to child care facilities is prepared, service accessibility will improve and high-quality care can be provided.
Currently, Incheon operates a total of 197 child care facilities, including 175 local children's centers and 22 Dahamkke Care Centers.
These facilities provide basic care such as meal service and attendance confirmation to about 5,200 children, as well as various care services including academic guidance and special aptitude programs.
An official from Incheon City stated, "Once the database of child care facilities’ locations, capacity, and contact information is visualized on the GIS platform, users will be able to search for care facilities in their residential area and easily obtain key information with just one click."
