[Asia Economy Reporter Minji Lee] Former People Power Party lawmaker Yoon Hee-sook on the 19th argued regarding President-elect Yoon Suk-yeol's campaign promise to relocate the Blue House, "Instead of thinking about building new fortress walls outside, it is necessary to dismantle the existing fortress and reduce the president's authoritative space."

In a Facebook post, former lawmaker Yoon stated, "Given the current severe COVID-19 situation and economic conditions, it is regrettable that the transition committee team's response capabilities are being used for such matters, and the more this discussion continues, the more the original intent of 'into the people' is fading."

She added, "In a sense, the Blue House is already a detested facility," and said, "If they return the Blue House but designate another Blue House causing inconvenience, and if the tight security and isolation remain unchanged, the question 'Why did you leave?' will follow."

She continued, "It would be better to consider expanding the current building or restructuring the space," and added, "Above all, 'into the people' is more a matter of the heart than space; the attitude of always communicating with the media and answering questions seems to be the way to approach the people tired of poor communication."
