[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Daejeon City is supporting international intellectual property dispute prevention and response strategies (in the patent field) for local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
On the 17th, the city announced that it is promoting the "2022 International Intellectual Property Dispute Response Strategy Support Project" in collaboration with the Korean Intellectual Property Office.
The project is implemented by the two organizations to assist SMEs in the Daejeon area with patent dispute prevention and response for export (planned) items.
Through the project, companies can select and receive support for necessary response strategies tailored to intellectual property dispute situations, such as invalidity analysis, design-around, and counterattack strategies.
This year, the city plans to select and support nine companies.
Applications for the project can be submitted through the Intellectual Property Protection Comprehensive Portal by the 21st of each month. The city will comprehensively evaluate the business feasibility and utilization plans of the applying companies to determine the final selection.
For more detailed information about the project, please visit the Daejeon Technopark or the Korea Intellectual Property Protection Agency websites.
Song Byeong-cheol, Director of the City’s Foundation Industry Division, said, “We will help local SMEs avoid getting involved in intellectual property disputes with foreign competitors so that each company can enter the global market smoothly.”
