Unlimit-CU Launches 3 Convenient Meals Featuring Plant-Based Jangjorim

Alternative meat brand Unlimit has partnered with CU to launch three plant-based braised dishes as convenient vegetarian meals.

The newly released vegetarian products include ‘Vegetarian Braised Triangle Rice Ball,’ ‘Vegetarian Braised Gimbap,’ and ‘Vegetarian Braised Bibimbap,’ three alternative meat convenience foods filled with savory braised alternative meat. The braised dish is completed by adding 100% plant-based sauce to alternative meat that achieves a soft and chewy texture.

The ‘Vegetarian Braised Triangle Rice Ball’ is a triangle gimbap flavored with alternative meat braised dish and vegan butter soy sauce. The ‘Vegetarian Braised Gimbap’ is a set consisting of gimbap filled with alternative meat braised dish and yubu sushi, targeting spring outing customers. The ‘Vegetarian Braised Bibimbap’ is a healthy meal menu that includes alternative meat braised dish along with fragrant spring greens such as stonecrop. The vegetarian braised gimbap and vegetarian braised bibimbap come as a set with vegan cola, allowing for a richer experience.

As consumers, especially the MZ generation, increasingly pursue value consumption and health, interest in alternative meat continues to grow. Following last year’s vegetarian convenience food series using sliced products (Vegetarian One-Meal Lunchbox, Vegetarian Triangle Rice Ball, Vegetarian Yubu Gimbap), Unlimit and CU released the ‘Vegetarian Jeonju Bibim Triangle Rice Ball,’ which received great consumer response. The vegetarian series products have maintained popularity with overwhelmingly high pre-order rates on CU’s membership app ‘Pocket CU.’ The new menu using plant-based braised dish was born from this growing interest.

Unlimit’s alternative meat products replicate the taste, aroma, and texture of meat using plant-based protein and are characterized by containing no cholesterol or trans fats, making them easy to enjoy without worry.
