[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jinyoung] Kolon-affiliated resorts and hotels are launching two types of ‘Family Campnic’ packages for ‘campnic (camping + picnic)’ travelers to welcome spring.
According to the industry on the 17th, this package was planned to allow guests to experience outdoor activities at hotels as various styles of camping such as ‘glamping’ and ‘car camping’ gain popularity and the number of domestic ‘camping enthusiasts’ increases to 7 million. It is prepared so that guests can enjoy relaxation in nature at the outdoor camping zone and also enjoy outdoor barbecue.
Gyeongju Kolon Hotel operates a ‘Camping Package’ that allows guests to feel a private camping atmosphere until June 30. Along with a one-night stay, a full camping set consisting of a tent, table, and chairs, as well as a camping platter including galbisal (beef ribs), sausages, and leafy vegetables for wraps, are provided so that guests can enjoy campnic without any separate preparation.
The camping package can be reserved on the official Kolon Hotel website, and guests can choose between the first session (from 12 PM to 3 PM) and the second session (from 5 PM to 8 PM) to use the camping zone prepared in the garden. The number of users per time slot is limited, allowing guests to relax comfortably.
Mauna Ocean Resort will run the ‘Our Family Barbecue’ package, which allows guests to experience both hotel vacation and campnic, from the 1st of next month until the end of this year. A one-night stay in a room with a panoramic view of the East Sea and Dongdae Mountain and an outdoor barbecue set for four people are provided, allowing guests to enjoy camping barbecue and create memories. The menu includes pork belly and neck meat sets along with leafy vegetables for wraps and side dishes, and reservations can be made through the official Mauna Ocean Resort website.
In addition, Kolon Hotel plans to newly open a ‘Terrace Camping Room’ early next month targeting the increasing number of camping enthusiasts. The approximately 7-pyeong (23㎡) room terrace, where guests can enjoy sunset views, will be equipped with camping chairs, lanterns, and mood lighting to create an outdoor camping atmosphere. After the official opening, packages including various camping foods such as chicken and beer will be introduced.
A Kolon-affiliated resort and hotel official said, “To welcome the full-fledged spring, we prepared this package so that not only camping enthusiasts but also ‘camp beginners’ can easily enjoy campnic,” adding, “We hope guests can reduce the hassle of preparation with the comfortable camping services provided by the resort and hotel and create joyful memories with their families.”
