[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] Park Su-hyun, Chief of Public Communication at the Blue House, said on the 16th that the Yoon Seok-yeol transition team’s plan to relocate the presidential office is "not about the place or geography when it comes to communication with the people."

Park stated on KBS 1 Radio's 'Joo Jin-woo Live' that "the essence of communication lies in how much we speak to the people through various occasions and processes, and how attentively we listen to their reactions."

This implies that relocating the presidential office is not directly linked to communication with the public, and is interpreted as an indirect criticism of Yoon’s decision to move the office. Amid ongoing tensions between the Blue House and the transition team over issues such as pardons and personnel appointments, disagreements between the old and new factions are expected regarding the office relocation as well.

In the interview, Park also mentioned that the Moon Jae-in administration initially pledged a 'Gwanghwamun era' but later withdrew it, saying, "At first, we considered implementing the pledge, but due to security concerns and its connection to the Gwanghwamun restructuring project, we could not actively pursue it."

He added, "We opened the road in front of the Blue House and the northern side of Bukaksan Mountain, and before President Moon’s term ended, the southern side was also opened," emphasizing, "We did our best to bring the people closer to the Blue House."
