[Asia Economy Reporter Bu Aeri] Naver Financial announced on the 15th that it has appointed Park Sangjin, Naver's Chief Financial Officer (CFO), as its new CEO.
Naver Financial made this decision at a board meeting held the previous day.
Born in 1972, CEO Park graduated from Yonsei University with a degree in Applied Statistics and earned a master's degree from Korea University's Graduate School of Business. He joined Samsung SDS in 1997 and moved to Naver in 1999. Since joining Naver, he has served as head of the management team, director of financial planning, director in charge of finance, and CFO, earning a reputation as a financial expert managing Naver's finances.
Naver Financial plans to continue expanding services that connect Naver Pay to all user lifestyle payment flows under the new CEO, while further strengthening financial services such as business loans, quick settlements, and post-payment options.
CEO Park stated, "This year, we will solidify our position as the overwhelmingly number one simple payment business and expand our scope, while enhancing innovative services to meet the financial needs of underserved groups and the MZ generation. Leveraging my experience and network, I will do my utmost as CEO to contribute to Naver Financial's growth."
