[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] President Moon Jae-in encouraged the cadets through a congratulatory message on the 76th graduation and commissioning ceremony of the Naval Academy on the 11th.


On the same day, President Moon stated via social networking service (SNS), "I sincerely congratulate the graduation and commissioning of the 76th class cadets of the Naval Academy, and I also extend special encouragement to cadets from the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, and Peru."


President Moon encouraged, "You are the first in the Republic of Korea Navy to navigate the Arctic Bering Sea and call at the port of Alaska, pioneering the new Northern Sea Route," adding, "With the fighting spirit and vigor befitting the descendants of Admiral Yi Sun-sin, you overcame rough waves and difficulties and became the protagonists who rewrote the history of our maritime domain."


He continued, "A maritime powerhouse is truly the future of the Republic of Korea," and urged, "As newly commissioned officers of the Navy and Marine Corps, I hope you advance boldly without hesitation."
