[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Ju-hyung] In the 20th presidential election, President-elect Yoon Seok-yeol defeated Lee Jae-myung, the Democratic Party of Korea's presidential candidate, and poet Ryu Geun claimed, "This is the fate of the country."

On the 10th, Ryu wrote on his Facebook, "We lost again. It's okay. I have lived in a country ruled by soldiers. I have also lived in a country ruled by swindlers and incompetents. It's okay. I am not dead," he said.

He continued, "Among those of us who survived, we checked each other's body temperature," emphasizing, "It's okay. We are not dead. We must not die."

He added, "With all my heart, I cried out and shouted to stop a world ruled by bad people. We did our best," but also said, "This is the limit of our era's capability."

Ryu said, "Now prosecutors will live in the country for a few years. They will experience what kind of country it becomes. They will observe which crimes live and which crimes die. They will watch how those who falsely claim conservatism use power," and "They will watch how the country becomes endangered."

He pointed out, "Let's watch how the youth, women, and elderly suffer. Let's watch how the poor become poorer. Let's enjoy living in a country ruled by elite prosecutors," he sarcastically remarked.

He concluded, "It's okay. We are not dead. The people and history survive much longer than power. Even if power dies, the people live, and even if the country falls, the people survive," adding, "Let's enjoy a country ruled by prosecutors. Let's enjoy how different it is from a country ruled by soldiers."

Meanwhile, last year during the April 7 Seoul and Busan mayoral by-elections, poet Ryu sparked controversy by saying, "Can a person with normal reasoning support scoundrels like Oh Se-hoon and Park Hyung-joon, who were then candidates from the People Power Party?"

He also criticized, "People who fall for the frame that unifies the long-standing corruption of LH Corporation employees as the responsibility of the Moon Jae-in government do not help community development anyway. Isn't the psychology of hating them partly due to jealousy and envy because they were excluded from that speculative information?" He further said, "Those who generously overlook the corruption of Oh Se-hoon, Park Hyung-joon, and Yoon Seok-yeol's families, who made big fortunes, while pretending to be righteous, are truly pitiful."

When some criticized him for insulting citizens with different opinions, Ryu responded to a netizen's comment, "Who said I am insulting voters? I am just criticizing blockheads."
