[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-joo] Samsung Biologics announced on the 10th that it has been selected as the "2021 English Disclosure Excellent Corporation in the KOSPI Market" by the Korea Exchange.
The Korea Exchange has been selecting excellent English disclosure corporations annually since 2019 with the aim of enhancing foreign investors' access to information and expanding overseas investment. Excellent disclosure corporations receive benefits such as a three-year exemption from designation as a non-compliant disclosure corporation (once), exemption from annual fees and additional/change listing fees, exemption from disclosure officer training, and overseas training for disclosure officers.
Since its listing on the KOSPI Market in November 2016, Samsung Biologics has been striving to provide timely and useful information to investors as part of its shareholder-friendly policies. From 2017 to the present, it has submitted a total of 126 English disclosures and has disclosed this status annually through the Corporate Governance Report every May.
In particular, it has focused on providing substantial information by disclosing in English the mandatory disclosure items for timely disclosures with high information usefulness for foreign investors, as well as voluntary disclosure items related to performance. Additionally, business reports and operational reports are continuously posted in English on the official website.
John Rim, CEO of Samsung Biologics, said, "As a global CDMO (Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization) company with the world's largest biopharmaceutical production facilities, we are committed to providing useful corporate information to customers and investors worldwide," and added, "We will do our best to become a trusted company through transparent management."
