[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Nahum] Naver announced on the 3rd that it will strengthen its online grocery shopping service through partnerships with SSG.com and hy (Korea Yakult).
Naver will launch its first dawn delivery service in collaboration with SSG.com. This is the third grocery shopping partnership following last year's entry into Emart Mall and Traders' grocery services. Through SSG.com's automated logistics center NE.O, products ordered by midnight will be quickly delivered by 6 a.m. the next day.
Naver grocery users can quickly receive about 20,000 products, including side dishes and bakery items for breakfast, ready-to-eat meals, and premium foods handled by SSG Food Market.
It also offers grocery shopping from hy's online mall ‘Predit’. It handles dairy products, meal kits, and organic fresh foods, and offers free delivery on the desired date even if only one item is purchased.
Naver is building a diverse grocery product database including mart groceries, eco-friendly foods, and local markets. As a result, as of the fourth quarter of last year, the transaction amount and product order volume for same-day grocery shopping increased by 270% and 240% respectively compared to the previous year. The number of users shopping groceries on Naver more than three times a month also increased by over 300% year-on-year, expanding loyal users.
Kim Pyungsong, Naver Grocery Service Lead, said, "This year, we will continue to provide various delivery services such as dawn delivery, same-day delivery, and last-mile experiments, and further enhance service competitiveness by advancing search, display, shopping cart, and recommendation functions that support convenient grocery shopping flow, as well as strengthening loyalty benefit programs."
