[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoon] Yoon Hyung-jung, former First Deputy Director of the National Intelligence Service, was inaugurated on the 25th as the 13th President of Korea Airports Corporation.
In his inaugural speech, President Yoon proposed ‘ESSG management,’ adding Safety to ESG management. He stated, “We will overcome the crisis in the airport and aviation industry caused by COVID-19 through ultra-convergent thinking, agile response, and barrier-free communication where labor and management unite,” and added, “We will lead the changes and innovations in the aviation industry toward the Fourth Industrial Revolution, aerospace, and the era of climate change.”
President Yoon applied for the position of President of Korea Airports Corporation to prepare for future innovation and new growth engines. He said, “Through Urban Air Mobility (UAM), let’s secure the global market for future mobility business, and create a proud ultra-convergent glocal airport group leading future society with eight new airport projects, overseas airport businesses, smart airport construction based on AI, bio, and big data, ultra-convergent thinking, and an open mind.”
Immediately after his inauguration, President Yoon visited the integrated operations center and aircraft movement areas at Gimpo Airport to inspect key issues such as worker safety and quarantine measures. He plans to prioritize the safety of all, including citizens using the airport and aviation industry workers, and strengthen on-site management.
President Yoon was born in Jangseong, Jeollanam-do. He graduated from Yeongnak High School in Seoul and Yonsei University. He has served as Policy Planning Officer at the National Intelligence Service and Cyber Information Secretary at the Blue House.
