FSN-Abyss Company Achieves Sold Out of Sunmi PFP NFT in 1 Second

[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] FSN, a KOSDAQ-listed company, announced that the Sunmi NFT, created in the form of a PFP (Profile Picture), sold out within one second.

The Sunmi NFT held a presale and a public sale on the 23rd and 24th respectively, and out of a total of 10,000 units, 9,300 units excluding those reserved for the project were sold out. The presale, conducted for long-term holders of Definix, Tiara NFT holders, and MetaKongs NFT holders, sold all 6,200 NFTs within one second, and the public sale, which had no participation restrictions, also sold all 3,100 units within one second.

The popularity of the Sunmi NFT continues on Opensea, the world's largest NFT marketplace. Within one hour after the presale ended on the 23rd, the floor price rose about seven times compared to the initial minting sale price, ranking first in the Klaytn category and fifth globally based on 24-hour trading volume on Opensea. Even after the public sale on the 24th, interest from holders continued, reaching a total cumulative trading volume of 4.66 million KLAY (approximately 6.9 billion KRW as of 9 AM on the 25th, Coinone data).

The Sunmi NFT attracted great attention even before sales as it was created in a form differentiated from existing artists' NFTs. It is not only the first PFP NFT by a female K-pop artist in Korea but also plans to pioneer a new K-pop culture through launching ‘Sunmiya Club’ in the metaverse, enabling various creative activities and collaborations. As the value of NFTs utilizing the artist’s IP increases, various methods to expand the ecosystem from a crypto perspective, including governance systems that increase benefits for holders, are being considered.

FSN and Sunmi’s agency, Abyss Company, are presenting a detailed and diverse roadmap for the Sunmi NFT through Sunmiya Club. Benefits already announced include a fan signing event at The Hyundai Seoul, the opening of Sunmiya Club in the metaverse, online and offline mini-concerts, and airdrops of VIP invitations for Sunmi’s world tour, with plans to provide additional roadmaps in the future.

This project is also expected to expand FSN’s global market. Since Sunmi has fandoms not only in Asia but also in North America and Europe, FSN’s strategy is to accelerate overseas market penetration by conducting various collaborations that leverage this.

Lee Sangseok, Co-CEO of FSN, said, "We have launched an innovative NFT connecting crypto investors and K-pop fandom through collaboration with MetaKongs and Abyss Company. The blockchain technology and know-how we have accumulated have been validated through this project, and as we continue to collaborate with companies holding excellent IPs, we will discover various IPs and develop unique businesses in the NFT market going forward.”
