[Asia Economy Reporter Donghoon Jung] Kolon Group's non-profit foundation Kkotgwa Eorinwangja held the "18th Kolon Children's On-Dream Camp" on the 24th on the metaverse platform Gather Town.
The Kolon Children's Dream Camp selects sixth-grade elementary school students nationwide who live exemplary lives without losing their dreams despite economic difficulties, and provides scholarships and encouragement. Scholarship recipients receive a total of 5.1 million KRW over the next three years, including quarterly academic incentives and middle school entrance preparation funds. Since 2004, a total of 501 students, including the 30 selected this year, have received 2.33 billion KRW in support.
This year's event was held online to prevent the spread of COVID-19. An educational space and event hall were set up on the metaverse platform Gather Town, where Chairman Seo Changhee presented scholarship certificates to each scholar individually. In addition, the scholars formed teams and participated in a career motivation program to understand their aptitudes and explore career goals.
Chairman Seo Changhee encouraged the scholars, saying, "I believe that if you persevere without losing your dreams, everyone can become an icon of hope in the future. We will be a strong stepping stone and supporter for the scholars moving toward their dreams."
The foundation Kkotgwa Eorinwangja was established in 2002 to realize Kolon Group's commitment to caring for children with the heart of the Little Prince who grows flowers, nurturing their dreams and hopes. It carries out various projects to foster children's dreams and hopes, including the visiting energy school "Eco Longlong," the eco-friendly energy workshop "Eco Longlong Cube," the Kolon Children's Dream Camp, and scholarship support.
