Expecting Ripple Effects Such as Job Creation and National Balanced Development through Revitalization of the Aviation Industry

If candidate Lee's pledge is realized, it is expected to have a significant ripple effect not only in revitalizing the air transportation business but also in creating local jobs and promoting national balanced development.
Candidate Lee Jae-myung stated that to create more and better quality jobs for young people, he will develop Muan Airport as a hub airport for Asiana Airlines to lay the foundation for the growth of the airline.
First, there are plans to expand Muan Airport's runway and passenger terminal, as well as to enhance convenience facilities such as duty-free shops and a foreigner-only casino for travelers.
Additionally, there is a plan to integrate access transportation infrastructure and Muan Airport early on so that people can conveniently use Muan Airport without going to Incheon Airport, thereby creating a new foundation for the development of the air transportation industry.
Regarding the relocation of companies related to Asiana Airlines around the airport, a relocation support center will be established in consultation with Jeonnam Province, and administrative and financial support measures will be provided to ensure stable residential environments for workers.
If Muan Airport is developed as a hub airport for Asiana Airlines, it is expected to become a catalyst for overcoming the economic crisis through revitalizing the air transportation industry and creating local jobs.
Representative Seo Sam-seok stated, "Candidate Lee Jae-myung's pledge is the result of deep understanding and consideration of the regional economy and various conditions of Muan and Honam." He added, "I will make every effort to ensure that detailed tasks are promoted as a national balanced development plan for Muan Airport to grow into the representative international airport of the southwestern region."
