[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Jucheol In] Gyeongsangnam-do is promoting the 'Air Pollution Control Facility Installation Support Project' to reduce volatile organic compounds (VOCs), which are the cause of fine dust generation.

On the 21st, Gyeongnam Province announced that it will carry out the 'Small-scale Business Air Pollution Control Facility Installation Support Project,' which supports the installation and replacement of air pollution control facilities and the installation costs of Internet of Things (IoT) measuring devices.

A total project cost of 25.1 billion KRW will be invested to support 299 small-scale businesses facing financial difficulties.

The support targets are small and medium-sized enterprises under the Framework Act on Small and Medium Enterprises with air emission facilities classified as types 4 to 5, and within the budget, types 1 to 3 facilities can also be supported. Facilities installed within the last 3 years and those that have received budget support within the last 5 years are excluded.

Priority support will be given to businesses emitting fine dust causative substances (dust, sulfur oxides, nitrogen oxides) and specific air hazardous substances, businesses operating pollution control facilities older than 10 years, and businesses requiring new installation or improvement of pollution control facilities due to strengthened emission standards in 2020.

The support amount covers 90% of the actual cost within the installation cost limit, with a maximum of 560 million KRW for air pollution control facilities, up to 720 million KRW for joint control facilities, and up to 3.69 million KRW for Internet of Things (IoT) measuring devices.
