The Gyeongnam Office of Education will inform all elementary school principals in the province and about 1,200 teachers wishing to participate in the training about the changed education policies and assist in preparing the curriculum for the new semester through online sessions.

The training session was organized to support the composition and operation of creative and distinctive student-centered curricula that reflect the characteristics of the region and schools, based on the demands from the field.

It plans to introduce major policies for the great transformation of Gyeongnam education and educational recovery, including ▲ Establishment of a future education system ▲ Support for a culture dedicated to educational activities, roles and utilization of integrated support centers ▲ Educational welfare safety nets ▲ Projects such as participation- and practice-centered ecological transition education.

Information will also be provided on participation in this year’s revised curriculum linked with the curriculum field network, development of Gyeongsangnam-do elementary school curricula, strengthening teachers’ instructional capabilities using smart devices, and activation of classes combining online and offline methods.

Discussions will be held on supporting class innovation to enhance student autonomy and strengthening support measures for students with reading difficulties and borderline intelligence through systematization of the basic academic skills support system.

Contents necessary for school curriculum composition and operation, such as the expansion of online Nuri classrooms to compensate for learning deficits and the opening of the hub integrated care center ‘Neulbom 2’, as well as information usable in schools, will also be included.

A ‘time to communicate with policy officers’ will be arranged to listen to difficulties in the field and actively reflect opinions and suggestions on elementary education policies in the policies.

Superintendent Park Jong-hoon said, “There will be many difficulties in preparing the school curriculum for the new semester due to the spread of Omicron,” and added, “We will carefully manage and support the school so that it does not experience confusion by implementing quarantine and academic operation plans centered on the region and schools.”
