Gyeongnam Police Agency Establishes '4th Mobile Unit' to Ensure Residents' Safety and Human Rights! The 4th Mobile Unit of the Gyeongnam Provincial Police Agency was inaugurated on the 16th at the Mobile Unit Headquarters in Gimhae City.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] On the 16th, the Gyeongsangnam-do Police Agency held the inauguration ceremony of the 4th Mobile Unit of the Gyeongnam Police Agency.

The 4th Mobile Unit was established as the fourth in Gyeongnam, following the 2nd Mobile Unit in 2019 and the 3rd Mobile Unit in 2020, in accordance with the comprehensive plan for reducing and abolishing the police conscript system and replacing it with police officers, which was adopted as a national task in 2017.

A total of 114 police officers with extensive field experience are stationed at the Gimhae City government building, performing security duties such as managing various rallies and demonstrations, crowd control, counter-terrorism, and public safety missions.

As security experts, they will hone their legal knowledge and field response techniques to take responsibility for the safety of the residents at the forefront of the security field.

Lee Sang-ryul, Chief of the Gyeongnam Police Agency, said, "In the rapidly changing security environment, I hope this police unit will become a true protector of the residents by conducting security activities that meet the expectations and standards of the people."

Jung Min-gu, Superintendent and commander of the 4th Mobile Unit, said, "Through police activities based on the rule of law, we will realize procedural justice and the value of fairness," adding, "We will become the last bastion of field security that protects the safety and human rights of the people, earning the trust and love of the residents as the 4th Mobile Unit."
