Zencurix Receives 'Highest Grade' Certification for Gene Analysis Accuracy Evaluation

[Asia Economy Reporter Hyungsoo Park] Molecular diagnostics company GenCurix announced on the 16th that it received an ‘A’ grade, the highest rating in all categories, in the '2021 Genetic Testing Institution Quality Assessment' conducted by the Korea Institute of Genetic Testing Evaluation.

The Korea Institute of Genetic Testing Evaluation has been conducting annual quality assessments of genetic testing institutions since 2010 to improve the quality of genetic testing institutions. Genetic testing institutions registered with the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency are required to undergo evaluation.

The evaluation checks ▲accuracy of genetic test results ▲appropriateness of the genetic testing institution’s work processes ▲suitability of facilities and equipment for genetic testing ▲appropriateness of genetic testing personnel through on-site inspections. An A grade indicates an excellent institution, B grade indicates an average institution subject to education, and C grade indicates an institution requiring quality improvement.

Institutions testing items not listed under health insurance are evaluated only on on-site inspection items and are rated P, Q, or R.

GenCurix is a liquid biopsy molecular diagnostics specialist developing cancer diagnostic tests such as prognostic diagnostics and companion diagnostics. Following the lung cancer companion diagnostic test, it plans to release companion diagnostic kits for various indications including thyroid cancer, colorectal cancer, and endometrial cancer this year.
